2nd Interdisciplinary Conference "Beyond the horizon: cross-cultural experience today"

Interculturalism has significantly influenced various fields of studies and the English language, regarded as the lingua franca, has played a vital role in this process. The importance of developing intercultural competence is emphasised in official documents at the European level, including the CEFR, and internationalisation of universities has been one of the subjects of heated debates in Poland recently.

We welcome contributions on a variety of topics related to intercultural experience in the area of Humanities. The list of suggested fields includes the following, but is not limited to:

- Cultural Studies,
- Cross-Cultural Studies,
- Film and Theatre Studies,
- Literary Studies,
- Linguistics,
- Methodology of Teaching English,
- Translation,

Proposal for papers (up to 20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion) of max. 300 words should be sent by 5th September to our e-mail address: currentsjournalumk@gmail.com and include the following: the name of the author, title, affiliation, 3-5 key words.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by 20th September.

Conference fee is 50 PLN and it shall be paid by 20th October.

Registration by 20th October.

The conference is to be held on 24th November 2017 at the Department of English, NCU in Toruń, Polan (Collegium Humanisticum, W. Bojarskiego 1 St. in Toruń). After the conference selected papers will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
