BIOMECHANICS 2012

MINIONA -

Białystok

We are pleased to announce that the International Conference of the Polish Society of Biomechanics, “BIOMECHANICS 2012,” will be held in Bialystok (POLAND) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology from the 16th to the 19th of September 2012.

The main objective of the upcoming conference is to create an opportunity for researchers and practitioners engaged in the fields of biomechanics and biomedical engineering to meet, present the latest scientific achievements and discuss the actual problems. Taking into account the specific localization of Bialystok, situated close to the eastern boundary of the European Union, we hope that BIOMECHANICS 2012 will be a special occasion for promoting collaboration between researchers from eastern and western European countries.

Lectures presented by invited speakers, oral and poster sessions, exhibition of laboratory and clinical equipment, as well as a special workshop will be good opportunities for presenting the participants’ research, as well as for providing new stimuli for further activity. It is worth mentioning that the best papers presented during the conference will be published in the Acta of Bioengineering and Biomechanics (Indexed in: Current Contents, Medline, EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, Index Copernicus, Thomson Reuters: Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Journal Citation Reports).

We believe that BIOMECHANICS 2012 will have a strong impact on the development of biomechanics research and promote collaboration between its participants.

It is also our honour to inform that BIOMECHANICS 2012 will be celebrated as the 30th Anniversary Meeting of Polish Biomechanics. This Anniversary Meeting will be an opportunity to recapitulate our history.

BIOMECHANICS 2012 will be held in Bialystok, the capitol city of the Podlasie Voivodeship, placed in northeastern Poland. The proximity of the city to many natural treasures, including four national parks (Białowieski, Biebrzański, Narwiański and Wigierski), will be a good opportunity to combine scientific interests with a tourist’s trip.

Yours sincerely,

Jan Ryszard Dąbrowski - Conference ChairmanSzczepan Piszczatowski - Head of the Organising Committee
