soap! conference

Poland is new to the technical communication world. We do not have traditions and we do not have long-lived practices, so we basically have a clean start. Also, we are often disconnected from our colleagues and devoid of professional instruction or assistance. Here at soap!, we have taken it upon ourselves to change that through learning events and networking. That is why we decided to organize soap! conference in October 2013, and that is why we repeated it on October 2-3, 2014.

On day 1 (free), around 160 people attended soap!, and on day 2 (fee), 100 people. We drank around 400 cups of coffee and tea, and 700 glasses of water and juice.

We had guests from globally-renowned companies, such as: Dassault Systems, IBM, VSoft, Electrolux, Ericpol, Avast Software, Interlingua Language Services GmbH, Autodesk, Roche, Motorola Solutions, and Google.
Our guests joined us from Germany, Czech Republic, UK, Malaysia, USA, and of course from Poland: Krakow, Katowice, Lodz, Warsaw, Szczecin, Wroclaw, Lublin, and Gdansk.

During both days of soap! 2014, 18 talks and 3 workshops were delivered by 25 speakers and trainers who are recognized for their expertise, their names are well-known, their words often quoted. They joined soap! from all over the world, including: UK, Germany, Spain, France, Poland, Austria, US, Canada, and India.

During the talks and workshops, we talked about API documentation, gamification, end-to-end UX, DITA, storytelling, silos, web and mobile content, UX teams, agile, implementing change, content strategy, HTML, xml, user assistance, social media, and more.

soap! empowers local professionals to build their own way of doing technical communication. Free from the baggage of tradition, we have a clean start. We do not need to adapt to the changing world, but instead, we lead change. join us and stay tuned for more opportunities to learn and to network.
