We have the honour of inviting you to participate in a conference devoted to the legal status of migrant children. The conference will provide a forum to address and discuss a number of challenging questions related to this issue, from the perspective of both public and private international law. We are especially interested in the legal obligations arising from the irregular situation of children lacking proper documentation, citizenship and registration. Bearing in mind the growing number of stateless children around the world, we want to pay special attention to the studies and analyses focused on the legal obligations resulting from the ratification of relevant treaties providing legal solutions to the problem of statelessness of children. The aim of the conference is not only to reflect on these issues but also to identify the most important challenges and gaps that exist in this field in practice today.
