The topic of the upcoming event (held in English) may be related to a broad range of linguistic and cultural experiences in a variety of subfields, such as: 

• language as a tool for conveying and understanding cultures; 

• stories and how they transport us to another culture; 

• translating words to introduce cultures; 

• words that sell cultural values; 

• cross-border advertising; marketing; marketing texts; digital marketing; 

• language: power words to attract the target reader; 

• target readership and how to reach it; reaching the target reader; 

• text pragmatics and its linguistic and stylistic realisation; understanding text sender's intention; 

• translation and/or text creation technologies; 

• critical thinking and reading in crossing the borders; 

• effective writing; writing to reach the target audience; writing to get the message across; 

• effective electronic communication (in social media); 

• vocabulary and grammar for effective communication; 

• when a single word matters: small words that matter (e.g., modal verbs);  

• understanding a text: addressing ambiguities (lexical, structural, referential, pragmatic); 

• special vocabulary and terminology; 

• machine translation tools in (cross-border) communication; postediting. 

  The time allocated for the presentation is 10 min. and it will be followed by a 5 min. discussion time. The conference is free of charge, however, the number of participants is limited. Apart from traditional presentations, we are also planning a poster session. Applications should be sent before 11th March 2022. You will be notified about acceptance by 31st March 2022.   

  All the participants are invited to submit their reviewed papers for the post-conference student publication, which is planned to be issued in the academic year 2022/2023.
