Dear students, dear colleagues,

During 5th and 6th February 2014 the 16th year of International conference MEKON 2014 will take place at the Faculty of Economics VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic).

This international conference provides the forum to present the results of Ph.D. students’ and young academics’ research. The main goal of the conference is the international meeting of Ph.D. students focused on the following research fields: Economic Theories, Economy and Management, Economic Policy and Administration, Systems Engineering and Informatics, and other fields of economic studies.

The best conference papers will be awarded. Reviewed papers will be published in proceedings (CD) and selected English-written papers will be published also in Conference Proceeding of MEKON 2014 – Selected Papers. Carefully chosen conference papers will be published in a special issue of scientific journal Ekonomická revue – Central European Review of Economics Issues (www.ekf.vsb.cz/cerei) which is recognized by the Research and Development Council as a reviewed journal eligible for research assessment in the Czech Republic. The journal content is also covered by EconLit and EBSCO.

Submitted papers pass through professional review, which is secured by conference organizers.
The reviewed papers will be published in the conference proceedings CD.
All accepted papers will be pass on to Editorial Boards of the faculty scientific journal Ekonomická revue – Central European Review of Economics Issues which is indexed in EconLit and EBSCO databases.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation after the presentation of their contribution. Selected English-written papers will be published in separate publication Coference Proceedings of MEKON 2014 – Selected Papers, which will be sent to the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases.
